High-Ranking House of Yahweh Official Arrested for Alleged Death Threats

Big County Nexstar Broadcasting, Texas/April 16, 2014

A high-ranking official in the House of Yahweh is in custody on charges that he threatened to kill a local judge, along with members of a law firm hired by the House of Yahweh for legal representation.

According to the criminal complaint filed with Callahan County, on March 27, Tsephanyah Yisrayl Hawkins, 54, sent a total of 96 threatening emails to a member of the Chamblee Ryan Law Firm based in Dallas. The firm was hired by the House of Yahweh to represent their interests upon the filing of a civil lawsuit in the 42nd Judicial District Court in Baird, and the member of the firm who received the emails is currently representing them in this lawsuit.

The emails, which began after 3:30 p.m. that morning and continued until a little after 9:30 p.m. that night, threaten not only the life of this particular member of the Chamblee Ryan Law Firm, but all of the co-counsel and opposing counsel involved.

The emails threaten death by knife, gun shot, and even explosions.

Finally, the emails directly threaten the life of 42nd Judicial District Judge John Weeks.

The email reads in part, “I’ll kill the judge too. I know where he lives. Try me.”

The member of the law firm who received the emails recognized Hawkins’ email address and alerted authorities.

Hawkins is being held on three bonds totaling $30,000 for obstruction of justice and retaliation.
