Celebrated Brooklyn Heights Hotel Up For Sale

New York 1/January 30, 2008

The celebrated Hotel Bossert is going on the market.

The building, known as The Waldorf-Astoria of Brooklyn, is currently owned by The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, which is affiliated with The Jehovah's witnesses.

The 14-story hotel on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights was built in 1909. The Watchtower Society says it did extensive renovations on the building after buying it in 1988.

Hotel Bossert has a special place in the hearts of many Brooklynites who remember when 'bums' young and old came to the hotel in 1955 to celebrate the Brooklyn Dodgers' World Series Championship.
