"I am childhood survivor of Christian Science. I had severe asthma and barely survived my childhood raised by Christian Science parents. My father was raised within this church and my mother was 'miraculously healed' in a mental hospital by reading one of their publications, 'Science and Health.' When I was 14 and my parents were at church, my older sister bought me an inhaler. Otherwise, I would have been bedridden and missed school. Now as an adult, I function as a healthy person thanks to the medical world. I have been through counseling and researched my former church to better understand what was going on in my childhood. Thank you for providing articles and research information for others wishing to understand. I do not participate in organized religion because of my personal experiences with Christian Science."
