Neo-Nazi executed for shootings in racist rampage 30 years ago

Daily Mirror, UK/February 18, 2011

A neo-Nazi was executed yesterday for shooting dead two men and a teenager in a racist rampage nearly 30 years ago.

Triple-murderer Frank Spisak, 59, who chose to read Bible verses in German for a final statement, was given a lethal injection in Ohio.

Spisak, the longest serving prisoner on Death Row, blamed the murders in 1982 on his hatred of black people - plus gays and Jews - as well as confusion about his sexual identity.

He identified himself as a woman and referred to himself in correspondence as Frances Spisak, a name his lawyers also used.

Last month, his lawyers asked the Ohio Parole Board to spare his life, claiming Spisak suffers from a severe bipolar disorder which was not diagnosed until years after he was convicted.

However, the parole board and Ohio Governor John Kasich rejected the plea.
