Local Man Arrested On Sex Charge

An Internet website helped police arrest a local man accused of trying to meet a young girl for sex.

Trenton Police said Benjamin Brown, 58, was chatting online with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl when he set up a meeting for sex.

"He told us that his intention was to take her to a hotel, and have sexual contact with her," said Chief Rodney Hale, Trenton Police.

Brown was arrested around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, and charged with attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor.

Cyber sleuths from the Perverted Justice website passed along Brown's online chats and sexual photos to Trenton Police.

A search of his home on Mars Avenue revealed evidence, including photographs and notes, which leads investigators to believe Benjamin Brown may have been in contact with other girls.

Brown was being held at the Middletown Jail as of late Wednesday night. Other charges are pending.
