Christian radio host arrested in Gaylord, Mich., after allegedly paying for sex with underage boys

A host of a fundamentalist radio station in Grand Rapids was arrested June 20 at a Christian music festival in Gaylord on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Authorities said John Balyo, 35, of WCSG was transported to Battle Creek to face the charge today in a Calhoun County court. Law enforcers say he was caught in a sting operation after allegedly paying another man to arrange sexual encounters for him with multiple boys.

Balyo was accused of paying another man to arrange sex with minor boys.

WCSG is a Christian station affiliated with Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids. General Manager Chris Lemke says the staff is "shocked and deeply saddened" by Balyo's arrest..

WCSG is a self-described"family friendly" radio station and an "influence for Christ." General Manager Chris Lemke issued a statement saying Baylor was no longer with the station.

"We are shocked and deeply saddened by the news,” Lemke said. “We trust in a God who is just and sovereign and will see us through this difficult time.”
