Church of Wells elder arrested for criminal trespass, resisting arrest in Gregg County

Gregg Country, Texas -- A Church of Wells elder was arrested in Gregg County on misdemeanor criminal trespass and resisting arrest, search, and transport charges on Feb. 1.

Jacob McGinley Gardner, 25, of Wells, was booked into the Gregg County Jail on Feb. 1, and the offense date was listed as Jan. 31. He posted a $1,500 bail and was released the same day he was booked into the jail.

When Gardner was contacted by phone and asked to comment on his arrest, he said, "No, thanks."

East Texas News learned of Gardner's arrest Friday night.

Gregg County Sheriff Maxey Cerliano was unavailable for comment on the details of Gardner's arrest Friday night.
