Osaka -- An AUM Shinrikyo member was arrested Friday on suspicion of obstructing an inspection by the Public Security Investigation Agency of the group's Osaka training center, the police said.

Takuo Hamamura, 32, allegedly blocked the investigation on Tuesday by shredding documents in the center with a shredding machine, violating a law to curb activities of any organization that has committed "indiscriminate mass murder during the past 10 years," the police said.
