Attleoboro, Mass. -- The founder of a controversial local religious cult has died.

The Attleboro Sun Chronicle reported that Roland Robidoux passed away at his home on Knight Avenue. The home serves as the headquarters for the group known as "The Body."

The cause of death is not known. Robidoux's son Jacques is serving life with parole for the case that brought the religious group to the spotlight. Jacques was convicted in the starving death of his 2-year-old son Samuel in the late 1990s.
