Pastors Surrender To Face Charges

KTUL TV/September 4, 2003

Tulsa - Four Tulsa pastors accused of failing to report sexual abuse have surrendered to police.

Robert and Janice Turner as well as William and Karla Kelman are pastors of the Harmony Worship Center Church. They turned themselves in Wednesday to face charges.

They're accused of not reporting the alleged sexual abuse of a two-year-old girl to the Department of Human Services. The child's mother allegedly told the pastors she had abused the child.

Janice Turner, William Kelman and parishioner Tammy Britton also face charges of assault and battery in the beating of the child's father after he admitted viewing pornography. The beating was part of a ritual known as "discipling the flesh."
