Cult leader to stand trial on sex charges

ABC News, Australia/May 26, 2006

An 84-year-old cult leader has been ordered to stand trial in a Sydney court on charges of sexually assaulting two adolescent girls.

Kenneth Emmanuel Dyers is facing 21 charges of aggravated indecent assault and one charge of aggravated sexual assault.

He is the leader of a self-styled healing group known as Kenja Communications.

Prosecutors allege he assaulted two 12-year-old girls who were also members of Kenja in 2001 and 2002.

In the Downing Centre Local Court today, a magistrate found there was enough evidence for Dyers to stand trial.

The case has been committed to the NSW District Court.
