Bad karma

A jury has tossed out a lawsuit filed by spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, ruling his blackmail accusations against a former employee were baseless. A San Diego Superior Court jury voted 12-0 to dismiss Chopra's civil lawsuit against Joyce Weaver, who was accused of being part of a conspiracy to inflict emotional distress on Chopra.

Chopra claimed Weaver asked for $50,000 in return for not exposing allegations that he had sex with a prostitute. After Monday's verdict, the New Age author and lecturer vowed to continue his battle. ``Maybe it is my karma to dismantle the corruption in the San Diego judicial system,'' he said.
